Following research that highlighted how confused many people are about insurance, the FSA has decided to spend £2million on an awareness campaign to help educate the public on insurance products.
Their aim, they say, is to help people feel more confident and informed when buying insurance.
Their original survey, which was used to assess people's understanding of insurance, found that almost half of us are confused about what our insurance products cover us for and more than half of us find it difficult to compare different insurance products.
The campaign will run across various channels including radio, newspapers and the internet, and includes a website to give people clear and impartial information.
The campaign aims to help people understand what they already have cover for, what may be excluded, how they can compare products and ensure they get a good deal when buying new policies.
In an attempt to target the younger populaton the FSA will even provide a podcast to support the campaign.
