esure is one of the newest of the mainstream insurance companies. The company was founded in 1999 by Peter Wood, the man who started Direct Line in 1985. esure launched to the public in 2001 and has grown through partnerships into a serious player in the internet insurance sector.
They launched a car insurance offering with Sainsbury in 2002 and they still run car insurance underwriting for HBOS. they are also linked to First Alternative, Bank of Scotland, AXA insurance.
The company provides car insurance, home insurance, travel insurance, pet insurance and loans.
